Wow, it’s good to hear you gals so frequently again. I’m glad to get my “bitches fix”. Also, Jamila Bey was amazing! Very good insights. Also, Chick-Fil-A is stupid.

Great show! I hope you will have Jamila on again. The level of flabbergasted outrage I think was appropriate! I’m feeling that way more and more as the anti-choice, anti-reason, anti-gay and anti-privacy side gets more desperate and more crazy.

It is really too bad about Chick-fil-a because their chicken is amazing. I don’t know how the gay kiss-in thing went, but I can’t imagine it would do anything but backfire. I know the protesters aren’t supposed to buy any chicken, but a lot probably did. Also, a lot of guys may go there to see the lesbians kiss and they will buy the chicken.

Btw, this picture text I have to type in to post is almost impossible to get right. The word seems to be clear, but somehow I keep entering it in wrong.

Another beautiful rantcluster by Tracy, and Jamila Bay was incredible as well, very eloquent and spot-on in explaining the situation. The issues for women were depressing enough, as they tend to be, but when she explained how every Chick-fil-a sandwich basically has blood as its special ingredient… I have never gotten so outraged and angry for the situation gay people have to suffer. And Jamila made me realise like never before how much this religion is a death cult. Its a cult devoted in its core to death and suffering, which they will bring on ANYONE who opts out or challenges it. Jamila, you made me realise that I as a new atheist can not just sit back and be outraged. I desperately want to contribute to a good cause to fight this damage, so I will get to looking for a local cause related to church-state seperation and actually find one now.

Is there a problem with the downloadable file? Every time I try to download it I get a 1KB file.

Loved your guest Jamila. Hope to hear more from her. Not sure I understand the indignant attitude about the flight underwear question; I feel like I am short a few facts there. Do you feel that was intentional to humiliate you? I was enlisted, so I am not sure what opportunities there are to survey officer compliance to regs. I guess it’s so the underwear doesn’t melt on you in a fire?

I really enjoy your podcast, it’s refreshing to get the perspective of women in the skeptical/atheist/feminist/humanist (did I miss any?) movement!

Everyone’s doing a great job. Please don’t be afraid to reign in Tracy when one of her rants starts to hit critical mass - the ensuing momentum becomes an unstoppable object!

I loved this podcast - Jamila is wonderful. I, too, am an asshole, especially when it comes to the human rights of all people. I plan on doing some research on the Chick Fil A issue - I need to “educate” some of the columnists wriritng in our local paper.

Thanks again - loved tracy’s rant! Keep up the good work.

Great podcast - learning quite a bit.

I can totally relate to this one. As a firefighter/paramedic (and woman) my underwear has been a frequent topic of conversation. I was asked right before a live burn if I was wearing an underwire bra (I was), which I then had to leave to take off. After the burn I was asked if it would have made a difference. It wouldn’t. I get the cotton underwear question too. Yesterday a national EMS magazine posted a question about if anyone had treated a “beauty contestant'’ before. The women who answered (including me) were insulted and the men played the “boys will be boys” game. Seriously? We ran out of serious EMS questions to ask? And the icing on the cake? At tonight’s union meeting it was brought up that the county was asked if they would consider giving new mother’s time to “express milk” for newborns. The man next to me actually said “We’ll help!”

Please tell me how women are so equal. The longer I do this job the more I understand that I am fulfilling a hiring requirement and will NEVER be “one of them”. There are a chosen few who make it, but so many think they are, when it’s so clear that the guys are waiting for an opportunity to get a woman’s pants. As soon as they see it’s not going to happen - BAM. I’ve seen it happen time and time again!

The various comments on juice-only sustenance reminded me of a post by a Registered Dietitian friend of mine recently:

Thank you so much for your wonderful podcast. I just now happened upon you because of Atheist Experience and because I just got my first computer. Talk about awesome! Please have Jamila on again–wow! Speaking of Uganda: have you seen the video called “Missionaries of Hate” about the anti-gay legislation in Uganda, the kill-the-gays bill. I think it’s on You Tube, but I found it on the Richard Dawkins website. Everybody should watch it. Very moving interviews with gays & lesbians of Uganda. Keep up the wonderful work–I will be a regular listener from now on.
